Speed celebrates 300 shows

Speed: The Movie, The Play returned to where it all began in March/April - the Brisbane Powerhouse!

Our flagbus show began life at the 2015 Brisbane Comedy Festival, and we we thrilled to return for the 2026 instalment.

The Brisbane Transport Museum’s gorgeous 1970 Leyland Panther looked right at home parked on the Stores Forecourt in its classic orange-and-white livery.

Our 721 bus looking resplendent under the lights!

With almost 30 performances, we welcomed around 1000 people onboard over the course of our four week run.

During our final week, we marked another milestone - our 300th performance! We celebrated with a delicious vanilla cream bus cake.

This fantastic celebratory shot by Geoff of Creative Futures.
Back L-R: Amy Driscoll, Scott Driscoll, Damien Campagnolo, Daren King, Christopher Batkin
Front L-R: Gregory Rowbotham, Natalie Bochenski, Dan Beeston

We were thrilled to have the show featured on a segment on Channel Nine’s Today Show Extra on 2 April, we got a fantastic review on Creative Futures, and we also had some fun with our own drone. This video also features cast members Ellie Hardisty and Daniel Johnston.

A huge thank-you to the hundreds of people who jumped onboard this season. We are forever delighted that so many people continue to support this little bus show that could.

Until next time, hotshots!
