Getting Wasted in June!

We had a great mini-season of The Importance of Being Wasted in early June 2022.

With original cast members Elizabeth and Jenna unable to make the run, we welcomed the wonderful Elodie and Geena into the roles of Gwendolen and Cecily.

Our first show was on Friday 4 June at the Ocean View Estates winery as part of the Anywhere Festival’s Moreton Bay program. It was a chilly night in the mountains, but what a warm crowd! Thanks for everyone who attended.

You can see our post-show interview with drunkees Ellie and Damien below:

The following week we presented two rollicking performances at the Brisbane Arts Theatre on Petrie Terrace, which saw the drunken debuts of Geena and Elodie.

First up was Geena and Daren, who made a delightfully drunk duo of Cecily and Algie:

And finally Saturday night was the other couple’s turn to get totalled - Simon and Elodie as Jack and Gwendolen got very messy indeed!

A special thanks goes to our bus technician Matt, who corralled us all up to Ocean View in a mini-van, which was a very sensible decision given the alcohol consumption on the evening.

And extra applause must go to the multi-talented Kris of Images By Anderson. As well as being a marvellous photographer (who is responsible for much Act React imagery!), Kris is a talented musician, and stepped up to be our accompanist this season. Kris was truly legendary on the keyboard. You can see him here in this cast pic:

Kris has also put his skills to use creating a group picture featuring our new cast members!

Thanks to everybody who came to our short run of shows - hopefully we’ll be back with more Wasted in the future!
